This residence, located along the shores of Picton Bay in Ontario, is organized around a square courtyard, which is central to the design. Sloping shed roofs, on opposing sides of this courtyard, mirror one another and direct water to a single collection location. Brise soleil shading devises overhang the exterior walkways and wrap the building, moderating the solar exposure at the interior. The design team for this project included Marc Simmons and Elaine Yau, prior to the formation of Front Inc. All components of the design, from concept to construction administration, were completed in-house.
