The new Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center is a gift from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation to the country of Greece, developed to serve as a catalyst to both of short- to mid-term economic stimulus. Located southwest of the Acropolis on a site overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, The SNFCC will house the National Library of Greece, the Greek National Opera, and a plethora of educational and public amenities including the adjacent Stavros Niarchos Park.

Front provided design and engineering services from concept to design through construction for this project. The monumental scale of the project includes world-record 23 meter tall glass fin supported glass walls with the fins partially engaged in the exterior envelope. These vast, highly transparent walls also include exterior motorized roller blinds to control solar heat gain. On the canopy that extends over the primary structures, building integrated photovoltaics provide power to the site.

The project is targeting a LEED platinum rating.
