This 6,000 ft2 (560 m2) flagship store is located on a prominent corner of the Hong Kong Plaza retail and commercial development in Shanghai, China. The upper section of the building façade is wrapped in a reflective veneer of opaque glass and illuminated by softly-glowing LED lights, while at street-level the façade displays a more stately appearance with layered materials and sophisticated details. The geometric pattern and configuration of clear, bronze-fluted, and bronzed glass panels allow for dramatic glimpses into the storefront.

Front worked on schematic design through the tender negotiation process. We designed systems for the entrances, the shop front glazing, and large operable facade screens. Front provided material and detailing means to achieve a light weight but connection free assembly of bronze or aluminum lattice works that form the facade screens. Careful design considerations were implemented in regards to fabrication, assembly and transportation allowing the builders to fully comply with the design ideas to a very fine detail.
