The design for this, approximately 474,000 ft2 (44,000 m2) office tower utilizes a double skin façade as a thermal barrier surrounding the offices. The interior layer is a pressure-equalized, drained cavity, extruded aluminum, unitized window wall system that spans floor to floor. The exterior layer is a glass screen composed of monolithic colored glass with an extruded aluminum unitized subframe. The units are supported off structural metal fins, hung from the main curtain wall vertical framing members. The structural metal fins also provide support for a window maintenance platform that doubles as a brise soleil, reducing thermal gain to the main tower curtain wall. Front consulted on this double skin system throughout the schematic design phase.
